Witcher 3 without playing previous games?
#1
Will I be ok understanding the story if I jump straight to Witcher 3? I heard the game is incredible I just feel like the old ones will be a little too dated to really hook me.

Basically not needed at all. Keep in mind you'll be dropped in the middle of a fantasy setting, so there's a bunch of names you won't know, but the backstory isn't necessary at all to enjoy it.

Can confirm, that’s what I did with after watching the amazing Netflix show, highly recommend btw, but the game was amazing

It's probably fine.

#7
That's fine, you can still play it,but if you wanna go deep in lore stuff, you need to play or read witcher

Go for it, man. I never played the previous games, and while some characters you will know they have a more detailed backstory, they will give you the basics so you can get what are their relations.

I played 3 before the other two and it was fine

Yeah you’ll be fine. As someone who never played a Witcher game before Witcher 3 I think I got a pretty good idea of the story and didn’t feel lost.
