I quite enjoy the Brother Sister, father daughter type stuff but get a Mum involved and I'm out.  Within the incest genre people dont like the "step" word being used and mom stuff seems to have gotten more popular within the genre than it was before.  Reddit quarantined the subreddit, pornhub seems to remove any incest themed stuff, the few studios that were making lots of non-step content seem to be doing less and less

I think this was asked of a porn actor in a reddit AMA, apparently its simply because the need a taboo aspect to make the video more interesting and step brother/daughter works for 99% of porn actors who are basically just young people. Unfortunately every company did the same thing, so it became a meme.

It's not a taboo I'm into but I've never understood the anger it gets from certain people. It's two unrelated people having sex with each other in the fantasy and in the reality it's two pornstar who are definitely not related having sex together, so there's literally NOTHING to get mad about, but people gonna people sometimes.

Personally, I tend to skip the set up to a scene, and given that no one's ever moaning "Oh stepbro" or "Oh stepsis", it never gets mentioned again until the end of the scene when the pretend parents walk in, so it's not something I've ever cared about.

I remember seeing something that adding "step-sibling" into their video names attracted more views, for some reason. I don't mind them naming videos weird names, I just watch whatever.
