Idk if I would say it's ruined porn yet but I can see that happening eventually. I'll check out all these porn stars OnlyFans (like Sophie Dee) and it's just really whack. There is so full videos of her online and then there's people paying the sub fee +video fee for a video that's not even as good as the ones on free sites.

It'd be one thing if there was just the sub fee but its the sub fee + all the others.

I only look for the leaks and I would have been pissed if I paid the fee they charged for maybe 98% of the onlyfans content I've seen.

Why would an amateur go into the porn industry when they can make so much more/be their own boss on Onlyfans ALL while doing much less than they would have if they went into porn.

Ive started my onlyfans and i would have to say that no it hasnt, the quality of content on only fans leaves alot to be desired, and so many big names content gets leaked now anyway, so really its a non issue i think.

I'm not sure what effect it has had on traditional porn, but I would definitely say that it has ruined amateur porn. It used to be that places like reddit were full of nudes and videos posted just for fun. Now, anytime someone posts some pics on those subreddits it's just to advertise her OnlyFans where all the "best" content is.

It seems most people are more into Amateur looking porn than some professional staged one with high quality camera and post-production. I don't feel as aroused with professional porn as I do when seeing a random everyday chick using her iphone to record. It just seems hotter.

In the short term, yes - but in the long term we'll probably find a new balancing point between the big budget pro shoots and the amateur ones. Maybe some of the big studios will crash and devolve into making cash-grab type short films, maybe there'll be more and more amateur shoots with better quality production. Either way, market's gonna expand.

As for "for-fun" vs "for-profit".... Yes, but also, if someone's posting for fun and there's opportunity to make extra money out of it, then no reason why they shouldn't take it. Not like we can tell who started off doing it for fun and who did it for the money. The ones who keep spamming their OF links everywhere are a problem, though.

I think onlyfans more killed things like cams and sites like pornhub. Why would any amateur release there things for free on pornhub when they can get subs who give them money a continual basis from onlyfans.

For new girls the smart route is to get your feet wet by doing mainstream porn, gain a following and then transition to onlyfans. Starting out with no following and jumping straight into onlyfans is only for the most skilled porn creators.

Onlyfans is definitely somewhat of a fad that covid helped accelerate. People were all off work with nothing to do which lead to more people wanting to try something new, but also porn companies were all not able to produce any content relying on releases they had saved up over time. This vacuum in the market allowed onlyfans to boom.

The thing is most of onlyfans content is just simply boring and unimpressive. It's all just video/pictures took on a phone in like 5-10 minutes and people are still paying for it. If I could earn literal thousands of dollars by spending 10 minutes a day to posing in front of a mirror and taking selfies I would also do it.

Idk If I’d say ruined now but I can definitely see the porn industry running out of business with all these free usage sites, the subscribe to view content way seems to be more profitable now than actors/actresses getting paid for a film session, also the fact that it’s really hard to make it big in the adult acting industry but in places like only fans the wage gap is based entirely on your fan base making equally possible for anyone to get big really
