For Jap censorship: you can see a butthole if it's just there, but usually if there's some sort of penetration involved (incl. toys or fingers) it'll be censored.
Yeah I still watch censored JAV for other reasons: better storytelling/scenarios/girls/acting etc etc. I'm absolutely bored by most of the storylines American porn has. But yes, censored gonzo and anal doesn't really do much for me.

I don't really understand the censoring but it is a big no for me. I'm actually curious if there are people out there that prefer it censored...

Yeah, mainly asian porn videos are censored.
Whenever I feel like watching asian porn, especially japanese stuff, I always add an "uncensored" tag to the search bar. It's not fun to jerk off to something you can't even properly see.

Censored is garbage, makes it significantly hard to enjoy. It's really a shame too, because there is definitely good content that is lost to being censored.
