I also got a Gameboy Color. Funny story my parents bought me the Yellow Pikachu one, but I never got a Pokemon game from my Parents since the were to pricey.
A friend of mine gifted me his Crystal Edition after he got ruby from his parents. I played that game to death.

First console was the SNES, shared with my brother, before we eventually got Gameboy Color and N64. The first console that I got for myself was the PS3.
