Thinking about getting a VR headset, probably an occulus. What are some good VR compatible games to try? 

Also do people actually get motion sickness using them?

I'm not sure about the Oculus store, but on steam some good VR games are Pavlov, Boneworks and Half-Life: Alyx. I also tend to just look on the newly released games to see what interests me.

For motion sickeness, when I first used it I never had any problems with the movement, but I did stop using it for a while and when I came back I felt as if I couldn't play as long as before. It depends on person to person, but the more you play it to less sick you will become.

If you are into shooters, you definitely have to try Half-Life Alyx, as well as Superhot VR. They are quite a treat!

Half-Life: Alyx by far the best.
Then as John said, Superhot it's also great!
